The University of North Carolina women’s lacrosse team has moved up to No. 3 in both national polls this week. The Tar Heels, ranked No. 4 last week by both the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and the Inside Lacrosse media poll, beat last week’s third-ranked team, Penn, 11-6 last weekend in Chapel Hill.

Becky Lynch had three goals and an assist and Laura Zimmerman had a goal and two assists as the fourth-ranked University of North Carolina women’s lacrosse team beat third-ranked Pennsylvania, 11-6 on Saturday afternoon at Fetzer Field. The Tar Heels dominated the second half, outscoring the Quakers 5-1 and outshooting them 15-3 after halftime.

The University of North Carolina women’s lacrosse team, ranked fourth in the nation in both the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and Inside Lacrosse media polls, will play a top-five opponent when it hosts third-ranked Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon. The Tar Heels and Penn will take the opening draw at 1 p.m. at Fetzer Field.

Megan Bosica scored four goals and Jenn Russell and Kristen Taylor had three apiece as the University of North Carolina women’s lacrosse team defeated the University of Florida, 18-5, on Sunday afternoon at sunny, breezy Fetzer Field.
