UNC Wins Six More Individual Titles at VT Invitational

The North Carolina men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams continued their excellent performances Sunday at the Virginia Tech Invitational as for the second day in a row UNC won six individual event titles, giving the Tar Heels victories in 12 of the 26 individual events overall in the two-day invitational at the Christiansburg Aquatics Center.

Tar Heels & Wolfpack Split Dual Meets

The North Carolina men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams split dual meets Saturday with NC State at Koury Natatorium as the 16th-ranked UNC women triumphed 178.5-119.5 while the #13 Tar Heel men dropped a close decision to the #23 Wolfpack 151.5-145.5.

Tar Heels Glide By Duke In The Pool

Cebertowicz Cops National Swimmer of Week Award

Steve Cebertowicz, a senior from Milwaukee, Wis., was named Tuesday at the Counsilman Hunsaker NCAA Division I Men’s Swimmer for the Week for January 24, 2012. Cebertowicz won both sprint freestyle events on January 21 as the Tar Heels defeated Virginia 166-134 in dual meet action, Carolina’s first win over the Cavaliers since 2008.
