The 22nd-ranked UNC Tar Heels’ strong effort in singles play secured a 6-1 victory over No. 34 Michigan on Saturday night. After losing all three doubles matches, Carolina stormed back with six straight singles wins to clinch the team victory.

Third-ranked Ohio State dealt No. 22 North Carolina its second loss of the 2010 season Sunday. The Buckeyes defeated the Tar Heels 6-1, as Ryan Noble won the lone UNC team point in singles play.

The 22nd-ranked UNC Tar Heels defeated Richmond 7-0 in the nightcap of Thursday’s doubleheader. The Tar Heels improved to 4-0 in doubleheaders this year and have won five of their last six dual matches to open the season.
