UNC Will Compete In 2011 ITA Indoors At Georgia

The third annual Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Men’s Kick-Off Weekend Draft was held last week as teams selected which route they would take to get to the 2011 ITA National Team Indoor Championships. North Carolina will appear in the Athens, Ga. regional for the second successive year and will be the No. 2 seed.

UNC Doubles Team Falls In NCAA Semifinals

After a brilliant run in the NCAA Men’s Tennis Championships, Clay Donato and Stefan Hardy of the University of North Carolina fell in the semifinals of doubles Sunday afternoon at Henry Feild Stadium on the University of Georgia campus. Donato and Hardy lost to second-ranked Davey Sandgren and John-Patrick Smith of Tennessee by a 6-3, 6-2 score.

UNC Doubles Team Advances To NCAA Semifinals

UNC’s Clay Donato and Stefan Hardy have advanced to the semifinals in doubles at the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championships. This marks the second year Carolina has had a doubles team reach the final four of the bracket after Taylor Fogleman and Donato combined to do so last year.

Clay Donato and Stefan Hardy of the University of North Carolina rallied from a set down to upset third-ranked Robert Farah and Steve Johnson of 2010 NCAA team champion Southern California in the second round of doubles at the NCAA Division I Men’s Tennis Championships at the University of Georgia Friday. Donato and Hardy fell in the opening set 6-2 before rallying to win the final two sets 6-4 and 6-1.

North Carolina senior men’s tennis player Clay Donato saw his singles career end Thursday morning in the second round of the 2010 NCAA Division I Men’s Championships at Athens, Ga. Donato, a Toronto native, won his first round match Wednesday but he fell to 10th-ranked Dimitar Kutrovsky 6-4, 6-4 in the second round Thursday.

Duke Defeats UNC In NCAA Round of 32 Match
