Carolina Swept By Wake Forest

A night after falling at Duke in four, the Tar Heel volleyball team was unable to bounce back Saturday night in Winston-Salem as Carolina fell in three sets (25-13, 28-26, 25-15) to Wake Forest. The Tar Heels were held in check offensively as they tallied a hitting percentage of .065 on the night en route to falling to 8-7 on the year and 2-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play, while Wake Forest improves to 13-4 overall and 4-1 in the ACC.

Tar Heels Fall At Duke, 3-1

Ingrid Hanson-Tuntland registered 10 kills and eight blocks at Duke Friday night but it was not enough as the Tar Heels fell 3-1 to the Blue Devils (11-5, 2-2 ACC) in Cameron Indoor Stadium. The loss is the fifth straight for the Tar Heels in the series with Duke and snaps a three-match winning streak that Carolina entered with. Suzanne Haydel chipped in with 11 kills and 17 digs in the defeat as Carolina falls to 8-6 overall and 1-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Carolina will take on Wake Forest on Saturday in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Carolina To Meet Duke Friday

The North Carolina volleyball team will head to Durham, N.C. Friday night looking for its fourth consecutive victory when the Tar Heels take on Duke at 7 p.m. in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Carolina enters with an 8-5 overall record along with an unblemished 2-0 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Meanwhile, the Blue Devils enter with a 10-5 record and a 1-2 conference record after dropping a five-set match at Wake Forest on Tuesday.

Tar Heels Go 4-0 In Fall Classic

The North Carolina softball team opened the fall season in impressive fashion over the weekend as the Tar Heels went 4-0 in the Carolina Fall Classic. The Tar Heels posted wins over St. Andrews (6-0), Longwood (2-0), Elon (8-0) and NC Central (6-0). Carolina will close out the fall portion of its schedule Sunday, Oct. 5 in Charlotte when the Tar Heels take on UNC Greensboro and Charlotte in a pair of games.
