Ackley Slugs No. 5 Tar Heels Past Davidson, 9-4

All-America Dustin Ackley belted a pair of two-run home runs to jump-start No. 5 North Carolina to a 9-4 win over Davidson Tuesday at Boshamer Stadium. Ackley finished 4-for-4 with three runs scored and drove in a season-best four runs for the Tar Heels (21-6).

Tar Heel Golfers Finish 11th At Hootie at Bulls Bay

The North Carolina men’s golf team fired a one-over-par 285 in the final round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Collegiate to finish in 11th place. Carolina carded an 866 total after struggling in the first round round with a 299 total, but came back strong in the final two rounds. The Tar Heels fired a two-under 282 in the second round.

Final Four Viewing Party

The University of North Carolina will host a Final Four viewing party at the Smith Center on Saturday, April 4. Both semifinal games will be shown on a large projection screen and the arena’s video boards beginning with the first semifinal game at 6:07 p.m. North Carolina’s game vs. Villanova is scheduled to tipoff at approximately 8:47 p.m.
